THE FRIENDS of Heart of England Mencap will be putting their hearts into their first fundraiser of 2018.

The group will be holding a Valentine Afternoon Tea in Stratford on Friday February 16th.

It is taking place at the Rosebird Community Hall between 2.30pm and 4.30pm.

Everyone’s invited to drop in for a cuppa and cake for just £2.50. There will also be an opportunity to pick-up a pamper goody bag for just £2.50 extra.

The Friends of Heart of England Mencap has raised a huge £20,000 to support local people with learning disabilities over the past four years.

Chair Anna Kingsley said: “This is a chance to come along and enjoy a cup of tea and a slice of cake or two while raising money to fund equipment and activities which directly benefit the local people with learning disabilities who are supported by Heart of England Mencap.

“It’s a great chance to come and meet our Friends group too and find out all about our future fundraising and events. We’re always looking for new members and new ideas, an opportunity to meet people and have fun whilst fundraising.”

THE FRIENDS of Heart of England Mencap will be putting their hearts into their first fundraiser of 2016.

The group will be holding a Valentine Coffee Morning in Stratford on Friday February 12th.

Taking place at 21 Aintree Road – it will be an ‘open house’ event, running between 9.30am and 12.30pm at the home of Karen Rousell, chair of the Friends group.

For £2.50 you can enjoy a coffee and a cake, with the collection buckets out for any further donations. Goodie bags filled with those unwanted Christmas gifts will also be sold for just £2.50 each.

Karen said: “We organised the same event last year and it was a huge success, raising £400 for Heart of England Mencap. The money went straight to help local people with learning disabilities, funding activities which make a real difference to their lives. We hope to match that figure, or perhaps even beat it, this year.”

The Friends of Heart of England Mencap formed at the start of 2014 to fundraise for the Stratford-based charity, which supports individuals with learning disabilities across Warwickshire and Worcestershire.
